Might need to be 0px or 1px, or something else. You may need to play with the gutter width in-between rows. Draw a rectangle the exact same size as artboard. Have the finished artwork on one artboard in AI. You can! One of my favorite InDesign secrets is creating makeshift “artboards.” This particularly comes in handy when creating multiple social media graphics, and you want to be able to view all of them at once, rather than having to scroll vertically down your screen to see page after page. First make sure the artwork is already sized to fit that 3x4 grid. To convert vector objects to guides, select them and choose View > Guides > Make Guides. Position the pointer on the left ruler for a vertical guide or on the top ruler for a horizontal guide. Your Illustrator file needs to be separated into two layers. File->document setup, check simulate colored paper and click on the the two colored rectangles to choose their color also set the Grid size to large, if you choose the same color for both the rectangles your artboard will be of uniform color. If the rulers aren’t showing, choose View > Show Rulers. if your first artboard was 200mm tall, Artboard 2 will be 300mm tall (200mm + 100mm). So wouldn’t it be great if you could combine the functionality of Illustrator artboards with InDesign editing? the one you are requesting can be achieved via document setup dialog. And in Illustrator, again, you can only achieve this by creating a clipping mask. You can easily crop images in InDesign by resizing your image frame and moving the image within it. If you click on your Select Menu, and hover over Object, you’ll see a list of things you can select. This includes empty shapes, boxes, stray points and text areas. You can easily hide items that hang off your pages in InDesign (toggling with the W key), while in Illustrator you have to create a clipping mask to view everything contained within your artboard. Before you export your file to upload to us, be sure to remove everything that is not going to be laser-cut. For example, I love the way that you can easily layout multiple artboards in Illustrator, but I much prefer working in InDesign for several reason: I equally love both InDesign and Illustrator, but oftentimes I wish I could combine the functionality of the two.
